Our wonderful Llamas seem to win a special place in our hearts, they become part of our lives and for some of us, they become our dear friend. They are there to hum away our stressful day, to look at us with those big eyes that somehow make us feel like they understand our hearts.

As the llama population continues to grow and owners face lifestyle changes, or llamas are raised without proper handling/training techniques which results in behavior problems, there is sometimes a need for intervention.  You'll meet some special people in this section; people who go out of their way to help llamas that are being mistreated and neglected, or are willing to take in llamas who need a second chance.  And you'll meet some special llamas, too!

Llamas are native to the mountains of South America. Hiking enthusiasts utilize llamas to carry their gear into the mountains and camp for days at a time, others enjoy a day hike with their llamas.
