The 20th October 2003 saw the formation of the first and only New Zealand Llama Association (NZLA). With the increasing number of llamas (estimated 1200) and owners in New Zealand we have come of age in the formation of a New Zealand association set up by New Zealanders for New Zealand owners, potential owners and llamas.
Bryan Pinkerton shares with us his experience with llamas in Canada. They are located in Mount Lehman, approximately forty miles east of Vancouver and about ten miles north of the US border.
From the time she was five years old Sue was going "to have a farm in Ballarat" and finally that dream has come true. Little did she know then, she would be raising llamas on that farm! Sue and Geoff, own Xanadu Llamas, which is situated in the Central Highlands of Victoria, Australia, near the historic gold mining city of Ballarat.
