Common positions for llamas and what it means ...
| |
Charlie is in a position which is called a Kush. Their legs fold up like a card table and they appear to be flat on the ground. This is a relaxed position and he's not yet ready to sleep.

This is the most common sleeping position of a llama. They have their feet tucked under their body and stretch their head out laying it on the ground.
Here, Charlie is laying on his side with his feet stretched out. This is a most common position to see on a warm afternoon. It helps cool them off the with the fresh air or breeze hitting their tummy.

This is a less common and strange looking sleeping position. Charlie's buddy Paco, is actually taking a sun bath. He is sound asleep on his back. If you saw a horse or cow in this position they would most likely no longer be among the living.
